Chronobyte, Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates JobGuru. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account data. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (or Google OAuth token).

Profile data. Information you provide for job applications: resume, work history, skills, compensation preferences, and contact details.

Usage data. We collect anonymized analytics (page views, feature usage) via Google Analytics. We do not track individual browsing behavior.

Error reports. Crash and error data is sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs. These reports may include device type, OS version, and stack traces but never personal profile data.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve JobGuru
• To tailor resumes and cover letters on your behalf
• To submit job applications you have authorized
• To send transactional emails (verification, password reset)
• To diagnose and fix technical issues

3. Data Processing

Your resume and profile data are sent to third-party LLM providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or your configured local model) solely for the purpose of scoring, tailoring, and generating application materials. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Storage

Account and application data are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (AWS US-East). All connections are encrypted via TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

• With LLM providers to process your application materials (as described above)
• With infrastructure providers (Fly.io, Neon, Resend) to operate the service
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Google Analytics uses cookies for anonymized usage tracking. You may disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. See our GDPR page for details on exercising these rights.

9. Children

JobGuru is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
